Outbreaker Solutions antimicrobial CSC as a solution to COVID-19

Outbreaker Solutions' compressed sodium chloride touch surfaces and their antimicrobial properties were discussed at the Global News Hour at 6 Edmonton.

Global News highlighted the innovative technology that can be used to create door handles, touch-plates and other commonly touched fixtures. Antimicrobial CSC touch-surfaces are made of regular table salt and kill harmful pathogenic bacteria and fungi. The news also featured the partnership with the virology department of the University of Alberta to test the antiviral properties on the novel coronavirus SARS-Cov-2.

The news also featured the competitive advantage of antimicrobial touch-surfaces made of salt over copper, especially with regard to the speed of action. The coronavirus remains active on copper surfaces for four hours, while previous research has shown that flu viruses are inactivated by salt surfaces in just under five minutes.
