Outbreaker Solutions partners with Edmonton Transit Service on pilot project

January 21, 2021

Outbreaker Solutions has partnered with Edmonton Transit Service on a pilot project to install antimicrobial CSC touch-plates on several doors at transit centres and LRT stations.

The yellow push-plates were installed on doors at Bay/Enterprise Square LRT Station. More touch plates will be installed at nine other transit centres as part of the six-month pilot program. The city's partnership with Outbreaker Solutions could very well be extended beyond the six-month pilot project if both parties are in agreement.

Craig McKeown, director of LRT Operations and Maintenance, said the project comes at no cost to taxpayers. “We’re allowing Outbreaker to utilize our public spaces and essentially attach their product to our doors to the benefit of our riders and our public, and to the benefit of Outbreaker, as they get the opportunity to trial and test and continue to use their products, see how well this works in a commercial, public setting,” McKeown said.
